Corporal Muhammad Taufik Sayuti, who served at the Melaka Tengah District Police headquarters, was swimming with friends following a reunion event at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Changkat Lada when the incident occurred. According to reports, he became fatigued and was attempting to reach the shore when he was overcome by strong currents.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad confirmed that search teams located the victim's body at 4:55 AM on Monday, approximately three meters from the Fire Control Center (PKB).

"The body has been handed over to the police for further action," Sabarodzi said in a statement.
