We might not celebrate Halloween much in Malaysia, but there sure are plenty of horror buffs out there. And even the average horror fan would know the classic horror film "Scream" and the antagonist Ghostface that has inspired thousands of parodies and Halloween outfits.
Well, the original 1996 film is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and the latest installment "Scream 5" will be hitting the big screens in January of 2022. With that said, an unlikely partnership between the movie's production crew and Airbnb was born. That's right, if you're in the US, you can rent the actual house in the film!
The home is available for rent on October 27, 29, and of course on Halloween itself (31), each time allowing up to 4 guests. The price? 5 US Dollars! (No, it's not a typo.) All knife marks are included, in case you were curious.
Besides that, included with the stay is a virtual greeting by the local sheriff, Dewey Riley (played by David Arquette), a movie marathon of all four films on VHS, classic 90s snacks, and a dedicated phone line to reach Ghostface! (warning: Ghostface might call the house too)
That definitely sent shivers down my spine! Those who survive the night will also have the chance to go home with unique "Scream" memorabilia, DVD bundles, posters, and more.
Now, if you're in the US, by all means, try your luck! For those of us who are not, you can book an alternative virtual experience with the screenwriter Kevin Williamson to learn about the behind-the-scenes secrets of the movies.
So, if you had the chance to stay in the "Scream" home, would you?
