Anthony Bourdain did not, in fact, lie when he regarded Sarawak Laksa as the "Breakfast of The Gods"!
We Malaysians undoubtedly have a love-hate relationship with TasteAtlas for sure, but sometimes they just don't miss. In their latest food ranking announcement, Sarawak laksa has been crowned the best Asian food, beating world-known Asian delicacies such as sushi, roti and spring rolls.
Now, what is Sarawak Laksa?
Vermicelli noodles, shredded omelette, cooked prawns, and shredded chicken are typically served alongside the broth, which is made consisting of a savoury broth made from chicken or shrimp and thick laksa paste, which contains more than twenty distinct ingredients. The traditional side dishes include a sour lime and a spicy sambal.
Some might argue it is one of the best things Sarawak is known for.
Worst Asian foods are also named, which are balut, zenzai and bangan bharta. TasteAtlas can exprect rage coming from the people of the countries mentioned, we're guessing.
