Two males allegedly attempted to trespass into Istana Negara with a firearm in their car.
According to The Star, city police head Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that officers apprehended two males who attempted to enter the palace compound on Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim via Gate 3 around 4.40pm on Friday (May 17).
Two males were in the vehicle at the time and expressed their desire to meet His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
"Further investigations on the car revealed the presence of a machete. Two local males, ages 29 and 37, were arrested.
"Urine tests revealed that both suspects tested negative for drugs." Both males have been held until May 21 for additional investigation," he stated.
He also advised everyone to avoid speculating on the situation or spreading false information.
The case is under investigation for criminal trespass and possession of an offensive weapon.
