Premiering on 'The Late Late Show With James Corden' last night, female K-Pop sensation group BLACKPINK took the stage by storm, and performed their hit single ‘Pretty Savage’ from their 2020 album, 'The Album'.
Upon being broadcasted, the YouTube video shot up to 7 million views, rivaling the group’s #1 competition, Korean boy-band BTS. With a fleet of background dancers and a smoke-filled stage, their layered singing as well as synchronized choreography, was a mere sneak peek for what was to come in their livestream concert 'The Show', which would be aired on their YouTube channel over the weekend.
Their concert would mark the group’s first-ever livestream concert, and the first time they perform a number of songs from their latest, 'The Album'. Released by YG Entertainment/Interscope Records in October of last year, the album went ahead to feature famous acts like Selena Gomez and Cardi B.
Supposedly to be performed at the end of December 2020, it was then postponed to January 2021, for safety precaution measures from Covid-19.
In an interview with the Rolling Stone magazine, Jennie, one of the four, elaborated on what to expect from the livestream: “We want it to be a secret. It’s our first online concert, too, so we are trying to take advantage of that and create stages that wouldn’t be possible if we were going to do it live — especially regarding choreography — and make it ‘BLACKPINK.'”
In order to tune in, BLINKS or anyone interested in watching the girls, would be able to choose from a standard or plus membership, after visiting their official YouTube channel.
The packages would comprise of: -
STANDARD: 36,000 KRW / $29.98 USD: THE SHOW live stream, rebroadcast and custom emojis
PLUS: 48,000 KRW / $39.98 USD: THE SHOW live stream, rebroadcast, custom emojis and behind-the-scenes content
Their concert is scheduled to be debuted on January 30th at 9 p.m. PST / Sunday, January 31 at 12 a.m. EST / 2 p.m. KST.
