Until August 2022, Nyawa Organisation - a youth-led NGO that is based in Malaysia, is providing the B40 community with RM5 counselling sessions. We all know that mental health issues are rather taboo to traditional Malaysian culture. Therefore, this initiative hopes to empower the public on the issue.
"Inisiatif Menyantuni B40 2.0," is the second instalment of their current initiative started in March this year. The initiative will see the provision of four therapy sessions at RM5 each. In addition, the sessions will be conducted by credible counsellors and clinical psychologists.
How To Sign Up?
Just fill up the Google form which is available on Nyawa Organisations Instagram page.
They will also ask you to provide a brief overview of your current situation and what you hope to gain from these therapy sessions. It will help them understand your situation better if you do go for their therapy sessions.
Each therapy session will be conducted online as it is easier access for those who live outside Klang Valley. However, if you prefer in-person sessions, the option is still open. Physical sessions for weekdays will take place at the Yayasan ZuriatCARE consultation room in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam.
"Nyawa hopes to reduce barriers, financial or otherwise, to accessing therapy in Malaysia. In doing so, we hope to contribute to building equitable mental healthcare in our country."
