"I'm truly M'sian!" Michelle Yeoh Arrived At Pavilion With Her Oscars
Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh received a rousing welcome during her first open meet-and-greet event in Pavilion KL yesterday (April 18) after her Oscars win last month.
Thousands of fans flooded the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to meet with Yeoh. Many arrived hours before the event to get a spot near the red carpet, hoping that they could see her up close and get a photo or autograph.
The Ipoh-born Everything, Everywhere All At Once actor took her time to gratify her fellow fans with selfies and autographs before making her way to the stage.
Yeoh then proudly showed her Oscars trophy to the crowd and everyone cheered and clapped as they witnessed one of the world's most prestigious awards in the hand of their beloved Malaysian actress.
"I just want to say thank you so much. Thank you. I feel your love and I deeply appreciated that. All your support, all your encouragement, always, I hear it even when I'm not in Malaysia. Because wherever I am, you are all in my heart because I'm truly Malaysian!" said Yeoh, while raising her Oscars trophy in the air and the crowd cheered.
The 61-year-old actor hilariously jokes about how she refused to check in her Oscars trophy into the aeroplane luggage when she was travelling by plane.
The meet-and-greet event ended in about an hour and Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh made her way to Berjaya Times Square for her mother's birthday celebration.
