A father in Singapore was fined S$5,000 (approximately RM17,200) for deviously planning to help his teenage daughter attend a K-pop concert in Singapore without queuing.
Though the reasons may be innocent, the act simply was not.
Concerned about her safety and wellbeing while waiting in a queue, the father - daughter duo planned to bypass the entrance by having her pose as a princess from the Selangor Royal Family, while he pretended to be a bodyguard.
The plot unfolded when the 49 year old father called the organiser of the concert that was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, claiming a Selangor Princess would attend and he would need access for her safety.
The father lacked a ticket of his own, but organisers asked him to arrive early so that they may facilitate entry.
The organiser granted him a lanyard and two wristbands for early entry as the daughter, her friend and the father entered the venue.
However, suspicions arose among the event staff at the Singapore Sports Hub, who reported their doubts to security and confirmed the false identity.
A police report was filed, and when the trio returned for the second day of the concert, the police were called.
The man pleaded guilty to conspiring with his daughter to cheat by impersonation.
