Malaysian action film Blood Brothers: Bara Naga is off to a fiery start, collecting RM9.2 million at the box office just two days after its release on April 10. According to GSC Cinemas, early screenings began on April 9, helping fuel the movie's momentum.

Directed by Syafiq Yusof known for 2024's Sheriff: Narko Integriti, the film also marks the directorial debut of Abilash Chandra. Blood Brothers features a strong local cast including Sharnaaz Ahmad, Syafiq Kyle, Amelia Henderson, and Wan Hanafi Su.

With a reported budget of RM7 million, the movie's early success was boosted by strong support from audiences in Selangor, Johor, Kedah, Pahang, and Terengganu. Finas CEO Datuk Azmir Saifuddin believes the film's earnings could go up by another RM4 to RM5 million and may even surpass Sheriff, which grossed RM60.4 million.

The film's strong start signals a bright future for Malaysian cinema, with more local titles and cinematic universes, including expansions of Polis Evo and Keluang Manon on the horizon.
