Sandra Lim, Malaysia's very own beauty queen, placed in the top 30 of the Miss Universe pageant, which took place in Mexico earlier on Sunday.
Sandra, whose full name is Sandra Lim Shue Hui, 24, is the second Malaysian delegate to reach this stage in history of Miss Universe competitions.
Josephine Lena Wong, former Miss Universe Malaysia was the first and last delegate to ever reach the Top 15 of the 1970's Miss Universe pageant.
Sandra, dressed in a national costume, gave a spectacular performance at last Friday's preliminary round (prelims).
People from around the world shared her performance in the bikini and national costume segments, which included the "Walinong Sari" attire.
The competition for Miss Universe 2024 had the most participation in its history, with 130 countries competing and Mexico, possibly the world, heard the name of Malaysia.
Though Sandra did not advance to the next round, her dedication and hard work has definitely paid off, ending Malaysia's 53 years of drought!
The Miss Universe 2024 title was won by Denmark's representative, Victoria Kjaer and second place was claimed by Nigeria.
