The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) of Negeri Sembilan has arrested a civil servant from a government department on suspicion of using her position to obtain false claims amounting to over RM200,000.
According to sources, the suspect, a woman in her 30s, was arrested at around 1 pm on Wednesday when she appeared at the Negeri Sembilan MACC office to provide a statement.
"The suspect is believed to have committed these actions from 2020 to 2023, falsely claiming funds for herself under the guise of bribery," the source stated.
Meanwhile, the Director of MACC Negeri Sembilan, Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail, confirmed the arrest when contacted.
"The investigation is being conducted under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009. The suspect will be brought to the Seremban Magistrate's Court for remand application tomorrow morning," he said.
