There are various reasons why the police conduct roadblocks. Typically, it is done to inspect important documents such as road tax and licenses and to apprehend those who do not comply with the law.
However, the motive was quite different for a group of police officers who set up a roadblock to rescue a baby monkey. Through a video shared on the official Facebook page of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), a group of traffic police officers was seen conducting a roadblock on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) near the Petron petrol station in Pandan Perdana Ampang, Selangor.
The roadblock was initiated to assist in rescuing a frightened baby monkey trapped in the road divider. In the video, no vehicles were allowed to pass through the area while the baby monkey was rescued and taken to the side of the road.
According to PDRM, during the incident, Police Sergeant Hairil was ensuring the smooth flow of traffic before noticing the baby monkey. He then took action to rescue the baby monkey with the assistance of a civilian, while other officers ensured safety in the opposite lane.
The police sergeant's concern for rescuing the baby monkey touched the hearts of netizens, with many praising the group of police officers for their actions.
