Another dodged bullet…
Based on reports, Najib’s trial has been postponed yet again because he apparently had diarrhoea.
Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was unable to proceed with the 1Malaysia Development Derhad (1MDB) corruption trial yesterday (Apr 2) after being diagnosed with diarrhoea.
A medical officer from the Kajang prison relayed the info to the judge saying that Najib was feeling unwell and was experiencing diarrhoea.
"He (Najib) went to the bathroom three times," said the officer, adding that he found the accused to be weak, dehydrated, and fatigued after an examination.
He then prescribed him with the necessary medication and as a result of the side effects of the medicine, Najib might feel drowsy and not be comfortable standing or sitting for long periods.
He also noted that the accused was suffering from low blood pressure.
The judge then asked how many days Najib would need to be on MC, and the medical officer recommended yesterday (Apr 2) and today (Apr 3).
In May last year, Najib also received two days of medical leave for diarrhoea, postponing the 1MDB corruption trial.
Back then, it was the same medical officer who told the court that Najib was suffering from stomachache and diarrhoea.
The trial, which was supposed to take place on May 9 and 10, 2023, was postponed from to May 11, 2023.
It ended up being pushed all the way to June 21.
