Coming in with trending heartwarming stories, is a student from Sandakan known as Rafida Zaiddin who was spotted carrying her belongings in a sack when registering for her first day of uni.
The public who watched her was moved by her dedication, and insisted an assist. Them helping hands, included political secretary to the Chief Minister of Sabah, Cikgu Rahman and a UMS lecturer Dr. Abdullah Bade.
Dr. Abdullah also spoke of her situation, and with his help, concerned parties were able to take action. Help included all her financial burdens covered, and educational needs tended to.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek also reached out to Rafida personally to extend financial support and reassurance, making it clear she was fully supported. Her resilience tugged at the heartstrings of the Minister, who fortunately was also sending off her own child to uni on the same day.
Rafida attended Labuan Matriculation College and received stellar results. She is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting in UMS.
