Covid-19 has continued to spread across the world and had caused an impact on worldwide industries. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, lots of the fashion & beauty leaders in the industry have to step up to support the community.
1. Kering
Kering, the parent company of Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen and more, has stepped up to help during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Kering has announced that they will donate 3 million surgical masks imported from China in the coming days. Also, Balenciaga and YSL workshop in French will start producing surgical masks as soon as they have the approval of health authorities.
Gucci will also produce and donate 1.1 million masks and 55,000 medical overalls to Italy.
2. Clarins
Clarins group has produced and delivered 14,500 bottles of hand sanitizer to hospitals in responding to the hand sanitizer shortage in French and they will continue the production of hand sanitizer.
3. L'Occitane
L'Occitane's UK and Ireland division announced that they will distribute hand creams to hospitals and National Health Service authorities.
4. The Body Shop
The Body Shop US's division has donated approximately 30,000 units of cleansing products to North America partners with shelters and senior communities throughout the US and Canada.
In addition, they have provided all North American employees with handwashing products to take home to protect themselves and their families.
5. H&M
Swedish fast-fashion giant, H&M also join the fight by manufacturing personal protective equipment for hospitals and health care workers and utilize its supply chain capacity to start delivering as soon as possible. The non-profit H&M Foundation has also donated 500,000 USD to the World Health Organization to help prevent the spread of this pandemic.
6. L'Oréal
L'Oréal has also announced that it will be offering up its factories to produce hand sanitizer.
L’Oréal’s La Roche-Posay brand will be supplying sanitizer to hospitals, care homes, and pharmacies.
Garnier will supply and distribute several million units of hand sanitizer free-of-charge to all its European food distribution customers.
Additionally, the Foundation L'Oréal will be donating one million euros to its partner non-profit organizations, to combat insecurity.
7. LVMH
World's largest luxury fashion group, LVMH (includes brands such as Dior, TAG Heuer, Guerlain, and Louis Vuitton) joined the first fight announced it will order 40 million masks from China to be distributed in France.
At the same time, they will start producing hand sanitizers to be provided free of charge daily to the French health authorities and other public authorities. Additionally, LVMH had previously donated US$2.3 million to the Red Cross of China during the height of the disease’s outbreak in China.
Words are certainly not enough to express these amazing initiatives to help the community.
