National archer - Khairul Anuar Mohamad defeated China archer, Wang Dapeng, in a close call battle and have qualified himself into the third round of the men's recurve individual event at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
After being tied at 5-5, the 29-year-old player, found himself staring at a theatrical one-arrow shoot-offs, with Wang Dapeng shot a nine and himself with a perfect ten.
This is the second time in this Olympics game that Khairul find himself in this dramatic situation. First being his earlier game against the Finnish archer with similar score of nine and ten.
Khairul is ranked 15th in the world. This is Khairul's 3rd Olympics attempt. He made it into the quarter-final stage back in 2012 London Olympics.
