Evidently, social media posts about mouldy food bought from Bazaar Ramadan have continued to "haunt" us.
Emma, a customer, posted her disappointment on Facebook after she inadvertently purchased two packs of mouldy curry puffs.
Her mother and sister had already eaten one mouthful and discovered that the curry puffs tasted bitter. As she opened it, she was horrified to find the filling mouldy.
She described how, upon opening each curry puff, she was appalled to discover the contents smelling like garbage and the shells being very oily, as if they had been over-fried.
In addition to tasting sour or stale, the slime has reached the point of fermentation, as though there had been leftover curry puffs for three to four days that haven't been eaten but have instead been refried and sold again.
Emma stated that she would confront the seller with the curry puffs as proof and request that they assess the calibre of the food being offered to customers.
Since then, the vendor has been investigated by the Ministry of Health, and the seller has now acknowledged their error that they had been recycling the fillings from the day before to prevent waste.
"The Ministry of Health also informed that the food sold should not exceed four hours from the time of manufacture.
"My aim in writing this post is not to defame any party or to become famous or gain likes and sympathies."
"What I say is the truth as seen from my standpoint."
"Maybe, this incident will teach us all something. Maintain the quality and cleanliness of the food being served. Particularly during this holy month," Emma said.
