In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) has announced a complimentary shuttle service connecting Penang Hill and Komtar. The service will run from January 29 to February 2, aiming to enhance visitors' experience while reducing traffic congestion during the festive period.
The free shuttle service will operate from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with eight round trips daily, one every 90 minutes. Passengers can board the shuttle at Komtar's Station 9 bus stop on Jalan Ria to travel to the Penang Hill Lower Station and vice versa.
To ensure inclusivity, the shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible, catering to passengers with special needs. For easy identification, the buses will display " "Penang Hill Free Shuttle" on the front, and the designated pick-up and drop-off points will feature distinct visuals to guide commuters.
PHC encouraged the public to check the shuttle service timetable, available on their official website and social media platforms, for convenient planning.
In the event of a full shuttle bus, PHC recommends using the regular Rapid Penang bus service, Route No. 204. This service operates between Terminal Bas Weld Quay and Penang Hill via Komtar, with buses running every 35 minutes during peak hours and every 45 minutes during off-peak hours at standard fares.
