A seemingly innocent AI transformation of a family photo has left netizens spooked after an unexpected figure appeared in the final image.

The viral TikTok video, posted by user Aien Ibrahim, features a Hari Raya family photo that was run through an AI filter designed to mimic the whimsical art style of legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki. For those unfamiliar, Miyazaki is the mastermind behind Studio Ghibli, the acclaimed studio behind beloved films like My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away.

But what began as a creative tribute to Miyazaki's signature style quickly turned eerie.

The original photograph features 12 family members posing together. However, the AI-generated version curiously shows 13 figures. Viewers with a sharp eye pointed out the discrepancy, particularly focusing on the three young girls seated in the front row, suggesting that none of them had been replaced or altered, just an extra person was added.

To add to the unsettling vibe, the TikTok post is set to a chilling soundtrack, amplifying the mysterious atmosphere. This led many users in the comments section to speculate that the AI might have picked up on something... supernatural.
