Cera, a stray puppy, was lying down to sleep when a man hit it more than 10 times with a large stick and prevented passersby from saving the dog. Independent rescuer, Shima was alerted to the incident and she found Cera looking lifeless on the ground.
Cera was rushed to the vet and was strong enough to go through the surgery.
The suspect has since been identified and was summoned to Mahkamah Sesyen Kuala Selangor to face criminal charges under Akta 29 (1) (A).
We're hoping that this case will raise awareness about animal abuse cases in Malaysia, so more victims get their justice and that perpetrators will think twice before committing violence.
