It's common for travellers to buy souvenirs like keychains or clothes when visiting a destination. However, it's a different story for those in Borneo, as they have a particular fondness for Gardenia bread from the Peninsula. 

This was evident when a man, accompanied by his friend from Sabah, embarked on an unusual quest to Kuala Lumpur solely to acquire Gardenia bread. He shared this unique adventure on his TikTok account. Starting with booking flight tickets from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur, they departed around midnight. Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, they booked a hotel in Bukit Bintang to rest briefly before continuing with their planned activities.

They visited various locations such as TRX, SOGO, and finally, Mitsui Outlet the next day. Before returning to Kota Kinabalu, the man went to a KK Mart inside the airport to get Gardenia corn bread, which he claimed was very rare in his hometown. 

Not wanting to miss the opportunity, he joyfully showed how he loaded all the purchased bread into the luggage he specifically bought for this purpose. He revealed that he did this because the bread was not only unavailable there, but even if it was sold, it would be very expensive.

The video of his endeavour was viewed by millions of users, with many expressing excitement at the young man's determination to get his favourite bread within a day. While some questioned if the bread would expire quickly, a netizen responded that it would vanish in an instant as it would be snatched up by friends or family upon arrival.
