In a shocking incident in Kedah, two young brothers are fighting for their lives after consuming crackers believed to be laced with rat poison. The incident occurred in Kampung Padang Ubi, where the toddlers, aged two and three, discovered the toxic snacks hanging on a garden fence.
The boys' mother became alarmed when she noticed her children vomiting and foaming at the mouth. She promptly rushed them to Klinik Kesihatan Malau for initial treatment. Due to the severity of their condition, they were subsequently transferred to Hospital Kulim and later referred to Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang for further medical care.
The Police DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) reported that the crackers were likely placed on the fence by a neighbor to trap monkeys. The garden where the poisoned snacks were found is situated near the children's home in Kampung Banggol Berangan, Labu Besar.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident and are seeking the garden's owner to assist with their inquiries. The community is on high alert, and parents are being urged to ensure the safety of their children.
This tragic incident has raised serious concerns about the use of poison in residential areas, and the PDRM is urging the public to exercise extreme caution in handling such substances.
