Malaysia has always been a popular tourist destination, but it is now ranked 18th on a list of the world's most unsafe places to travel.
We apparently even had a terrible score of -176.17 on the Travel Safety Index, which was issued by a US insurance company called The Swiftest.
It was assessed in accordance with seven categories, including homicide deaths, road traffic deaths, poisoning deaths, death from poor hygiene conditions, lives lost due to communicable diseases, lives lost due to injury, to natural disaster risk index.
And the only two categories — deaths from poor hygiene conditions and homicides — basically excelled at a B+ and B grade each.
Here's a quick breakdown of the grade of each category:
Death from poor hygiene conditions: B+
Homicide deaths: B
Poisoning deaths: C
Injury life years lost: C-
Natural disaster risk index: D+
Road traffic deaths: F
Communicable disease life years lost: F
