To help with the investigation into the murder of the autistic child, police plan to ask for an extension of the remand of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin's parents tomorrow.
According to Bernama, the couple's remand time ends today (June 7), thus Selangor police head Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said his team will file an application.
We will extend the remand tomorrow, he said when contacted.
To help with the murder case being looked into under Section 302 of the Penal Code, the boy's parents were earlier placed in custody for a period of seven days, starting on June 1 and ending tomorrow.
After being reported missing the day before, 6-year-old Zayn Rayyan's body was discovered last year on December 6 in a stream near his residence in Petaling Jaya's Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai.
Based on the autopsy results, which revealed self-defense wounds on his neck and torso, it is assumed that the youngster was murdered.
