Kajang police have confirmed the tragic death of a 7-year-old girl who succumbed to severe injuries after enduring prolonged abuse at home. Authorities have since arrested the child's parents on suspicion of causing her death.
According to Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, Hospital Kajang notified the police after the young victim was brought in unconscious by her parents. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced dead in the emergency room's red zone.
A post-mortem examination conducted at 12:30 PM on January 29 revealed multiple signs of abuse, with both old and fresh injuries present on her body. The forensic report concluded that the cause of death was abdominal trauma caused by a blunt object.
Following the findings, the girl's parents, aged 38 and 40, were taken into custody at 1:11 AM. They were later brought before the Kajang Court and remanded for further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code. If convicted, they could face the death penalty or up to 40 years in prison, along with a fine.
