According to SinChew, Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the government transition that happened in February did not disrupt the effort of the Ministry of Health (MOH) to control the spread of COVID-19 in Malaysia.

According to him, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin immediately held a discussion with him to discuss Malaysians that returning from abroad and the Tabligh groups after being appointed as the 8th Prime Minister.
Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham also thanked the Prime Minister and associated
ministers for listening to the suggestion of MOH to declare the Movement
Control Order (MCO) underneath the Prevention and Control of Infectious
Diseases Act 1988 or Act 342.

He said that Malaysia was the first to implement MCO among our neighboring countries. Dr. Noor Hisham believed that the actions taken by the government have also succeeded in controlling the spread of COVID-19, defeating the projection of JPMorgan on the cumulative COVID-19 cases in Malaysia.
