Jeli: A woman was rescued by members of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Jeli after climbing a 10-meter-high tree in an incident in Kampung Lubok Dulang, Ayer Lanas, here, today.
Jeli Fire and Rescue Station chief, Mohd Adni Ibrahim, said they received a phone call at 9.33am, before rushing to the scene and found a woman on a tree.
He said the 51 -year -old woman was believed to be in a semi -conscious state or hallucinating and refused to go down despite several attempts to be helped by her family and some villagers around the scene.
"A total of 10 officers and members were involved for the rescue mission which required the JBPM to use a ladder to bring the victim down from the tree."
They spent 10 minutes to persuade the victim to come down, but when interacting with the woman, she suddenly fainted and lost consciousness and had to be carried down the tree by the team.
"The victim also has a health record involving stress from the hospital and is believed to have acted out of control several times," he said when contacted, today.
Mohd Adni said the victim could be brought down safely without any injuries before being handed over to the family for further treatment.
He said the skills of the firefighters made it easier for them to solve such cases so that there would not be any unwanted incidents during the rescue mission.
