A woman daringly set her sleeping husband on fire after her husband refused to give her money to buy school books for their child. Furthermore, the Indonesian woman was insulted with harsh words.
As a result of the incident, the victim suffered burns on 60 per cent of his body.
The Chief of Police of Kubu Raya, Ade Ardiansyah, stated that the incident took place in a cowshed near the Kubu Raya area on August 6th. "Due to excessive emotions, the wife poured petrol on her husband. Initially, the wife only intended to threaten her husband."
"However, the situation became critical when the husband said, 'Go ahead, burn me, don't just talk'," Ade said. Shortly after that, the wife lit a match and set the victim on fire. At that moment, the victim screamed for help and ran towards a pond to extinguish the flames.
"In a state of panic, the wife pulled her burning husband into the pond and then took the victim to a health centre for treatment," he added. Ade explained that the victim is still undergoing intensive treatment in the hospital, while his wife is under police investigation.
