According to New Straits Times, the undergraduates would receive the offer letter that mentioned the online registration process soon as it is expected to send out next week.
Malaysian Council of Public Universities Administrators Association (Masti) president Raja Shah Erman Raja Ariffin said,
"For the admission process, the universities are prepared to use the new method. Parents and students are not required to be on campus. Their orientation will not be held too. The undergraduates need to only confirm their enrolment and pay their fees online."
Universities are encouraged to adapt to this new norm, turning academic and curriculum sessions online.
"For example, new undergraduates of the engineering course at Universiti Malaysia Perlis normally have their classes in labs."
"However, with the changes to the curriculum, for the first semester, they are not required to go to labs since the teaching and learning are online."
"Verified certificates can be submitted when the campuses open." Raja Shah Erman said.
Raja Shah Erman also said that the exceptions for post-graduates and final- year undergraduates being allowed to enter campuses is because their number is smaller.
The Higher Learning Ministry announced on Wednesday (May 27) said public universities, polytechnics and community colleges, as well as private tertiary institutions, would begin their 2020/2021 academic session on July 1.
