In a tragic incident that happened in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India, a 17 year-old-teen teen Neha Paswan suffered a tragic demise after being allegedly beaten to death by her male family elders, all because they didn‘t approve of her wearing jeans.
Neha Paswan was about to perform her rituals after one full day of religious fast when her grandfather and uncles objected to her attire that day— the teenager was wearing a modern top and jeans, something that'd have been deemed completely normal anywhere else. Neha insisted that she kept her attire, and not long after, an argument ensued.

The little predicament quickly turned into violence when her grandfather and male uncles started brutally beating her with a stick until she laid unconscious. The male family members then tried to take her to the hospital, forbidding her mother to tag along.
Rest in peace, Neha Paswan.
The next day, Neha Paswan's body was found hanging from a bridge near the Gandak river. Her grandparents and the rest of the vile family members involved in the crime were later arrested.
