Two women faced a harrowing ordeal when they were robbed by a helmeted assailant near Milan Square in Kuching, Sarawak last Sunday.

A widely circulated closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording since Wednesday shows that the two women were initially waiting for their laundry at a laundromat. Suddenly, a helmeted man barged in brandishing a meat cleaver and attempted to attack both the women with the weapon several times.

The suspect then seized the phones of both victims and is believed to have coerced them into transferring money using an e-wallet system.
