Being an officer entails a significant responsibility - not only must they adhere to regulations, but they must also administer fairness to all. Nonetheless, this ideal isn't always upheld.
A video circulated on X.com showcases a man expressing frustration over what he perceives as discriminatory actions by a Majilis Perbandaran Kuala Langat (MPKL) officer when it comes to clamping illegally parked vehicles.
Initially, three vehicles, including a Toyota Veloz, a Honda HR-V, and a Toyota Hilux, were parked illegally. Surprisingly, only the Toyota Veloz and Honda HR-V received clamps.
Feeling aggrieved, the Toyota Veloz owner recorded a video while paying the fine to the MPKL officer, questioning why the Toyota Hilux wasn't clamped. The officer explained that the clamp was too small for the Hilux's tyre, thus exempting it from clamping. He suggested the man to report the issue to the state office via email, emphasizing that the clamp size wasn't within his purview.
The man further elaborated that he had parked for only "two minutes," whereas the Hilux had been there before him without repercussions, prompting him to question the fairness of his fellow officers.
"This feels like favouritism, as only the smaller vehicles were penalized," remarked the man after settling the fine.
