Based on recent reports, KL was hit with flash floods this morning from the heavy downpour.
It triggered flash floods in several parts of the state, stranding motorists and causing significant delays. This included a 30-minute postponement of Parliament proceedings.
The rain, which began at around 9am, lasted for over an hour, and saw rainfall levels exceeding 60mm per hour in some areas, prompting red alert warnings from authorities.
Floodwaters along Parliament Road reached halfway up car tires, disrupting traffic and delaying the start of the Parliament session.
Commuters faced severe delays, with many taking over an hour to reach their destinations, and some even reporting traffic standstills lasting up to 90 minutes.
The floods also affected Universiti Malaya, also leading to the postponement of a scheduled press conference.
Other areas hit by the flooding included Sungai Bunus, Jalan Tun Razak, and Leboh Pasar.
