A Singaporean woman is tirelessly searching for her six-year-old son, Caleb, who was allegedly abducted by his father and taken to Malaysia in May 2024. The mother, Daylin Limonte, has turned to social media and other platforms to raise awareness about the case and seek assistance from the public.
In a heartfelt post on her Facebook page, Daylin, also known as Day, shared her distress and determination to reunite with her son. "It's been a long time since I last posted anything here. I wish I was posting about something happy, but I'm here asking for help. Earlier this year, my son, Caleb, was abducted by his father and taken to Malaysia. He has now been missing, without contact, for over 175 days," she wrote.
Her plea continued: "I'm trying to raise awareness of his abduction to hopefully get help from the right people to find and bring him back home."
To further the search efforts, a website titled Help Find Caleb was launched as a central hub for information and tips from the public. The website details the circumstances of Caleb's disappearance, emphasizing the urgent need for cooperation to locate him.
"His parents divorced in 2021, and for the last three years, Caleb has been legally under the care and custody of his mother, Daylin," the website states. "In May 2024, after a scheduled parental visit, Caleb's father, Luqman (also known as Luke Liang), failed to return Caleb and abducted him overseas to Malaysia via Johor Bahru. Caleb was illegally taken without the knowledge or permission of his mother, against Singapore court orders."
The website also describes the heartbreaking reality that Daylin has faced for over six months. "Luqman has made himself uncontactable and has not granted Daylin any access to her son. We continue to exhaust all possible legal means in Singapore and Malaysia to have Caleb returned home. Frustratingly, these court processes take time, and the exact whereabouts of Caleb and Luqman remain unknown."
Daylins emotional appeal highlights the importance of public awareness and assistance in the search for Caleb. Anyone with information about Caleb's whereabouts is urged to contact the authorities or reach out through the Help Find Caleb website.
The case serves as a sobering reminder of the complexities of cross-border custody disputes and the devastating impact they can have on families. While legal proceedings are underway, Daylin remains hopeful that her son will be found and safely returned home.
