Wanted to negotiate, but got ambushed!
According to Sin Chew Daily, at around 9pm on June 30, 2024, a murder occurred in a parking lot at Phase 2 of Bintulu City Commercial Center in Sarawak. A man was stabbed in the neck and died on the spot.
It is understood that at the time of the incident, the deceased, who was over 40 years old, accompanied his friends to negotiate with his daughter's ex-boyfriend. After he arrived at the scene of the incident, he was suspected of being ambushed by the other party's companions and stabbed in the back of the neck with a knife. He fell to the ground and died on the spot.
The deceased's friends immediately called the hospital and police for help, but after medical staff arrived at the scene and diagnosed the patient, they confirmed that there was no sign of life.
According to Borneo Post Online, Bintulu police district chief Sergeant Nixon Joshuan Ali said police arrested two suspects aged 22 and 27 at two different locations in Bintulu five hours after the incident and seized a knife, two mobile phones, a sponge and the suspects clothes.
He revealed that both suspects had no criminal record and the motive for the crime was currently under investigation. He also said that urine tests would be conducted on the two suspects.
The police will investigate the murder case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
