A man hurled harsh words at the toll attendant and kicked the wall of the toll counter at the toll plaza near Jalan Batu 9, on Monday - just because he was reprimanded for tapping the Touch n' Go Card holder vigorously.
This action attracted attention when the act was recorded and uploaded by a netizen on a Facebook account.
"In the video, a man is seen getting out of the vehicle and heading towards the toll counter while scolding the toll attendant. The suspect took part in kicking the toll counter wall and then left the scene." said Head of the Kajang Regional Police, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abd Yusof.
Assistant Commissioner Naazron added, the police detained a 31 year old mechanic with a Perodua Alza at a residential park in Hulu Langat area, at around 7 pm Monday.
He said that the initial urine test found that the suspect was positive for methamphetamine drugs, in addition to having 17 previous criminal records.
According to him, the case was investigated according to Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing a treasonous act which could carry a prison sentence of up to two years or a fine or both.
Apart from that, he said, the man was also investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which means that if you make a mistake you can be fined up to a maximum of RM100 and the investigation was also carried out under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
"The application for remand for the suspect who works as a mechanic will be carried out today (Tuesday)," he explained.
