In the last several months, the chief executive officer, Mark Zuckerberg worked with his teams on Facebook Shops to quicken the launching of Facebook Shops so that the small businesses could benefit from using this tool. Facebook Shops are free and it allows small businesses to easily start a shop to sell things directly across the apps. This is because Facebook Shops would appear on your Facebook and Instagram accounts as soon as it is set up. It would be soon on Messenger and WhatsApp.

The small businesses could also share their story, featured products, purchase features on their Facebook Shops. Besides, here would be no app-switching to a slow mobile web browser to reenter your credit card for the purchase. Moreover, the small businesses can easily integrate their Facebook Shops with different tools like Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Channel Advisor, CedCommerce, Cafe24, Tienda Nube, and Feedonomics to manage their customer journey.

In addition, there would be new Live shopping features across Facebook and Instagram, where the viewers could shop on Live in real-time. A shopping tab on Instagram and a destination inside "Explore" would also be added. These features would enable the users to discover the products that they might be interested in.

Mark Zuckerberg also revealed that artificial intelligence and augmented reality tech would be included in Facebook Shops in order to generate better shopping experiences. These technologies would automatically identify and tag products in feeds so people can easily click-through to purchase the products. Small businesses also could personalize their storefronts and use augmented reality to let their customers virtually try their products to see how they might look on you before buying.
