Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz announced that the assistance for senior citizens will be increased from the previous RM350 per month to RM500 per month. This assistance fund is managed by the Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia (JKM) under the Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga Dan Masyarakat.
Requirements:
1. Applicants must be senior citizens aged 60 or above and be Malaysian citizens and residents.
2 Family income does not more than RM2208.00
3. Not living in an institution controlled by JKM, such as a daycare/accommodation centre that provides free facilities/services, etc.
P.S. You can apply for this benefit even you do not meet the above qualifications, but the JKM will consider and approve your application according to the situation.
Steps:
1. Browse ebantuanjkm.jkm.gov.my, click "Daftar Permohonan". Enter your state of residence and the IC number, and then click "Daftar".
2 Fill in all the information.
3. 14 days after completing the online registration, you need to bring the following documents and submit them to the counter of the nearest JKM office in person.
- A copy of the applicant's identity card.
- A copy of the husband/wife/mother/father/child’s identity card.
- A copy of birth certificates of children/family members who are living together with the applicant.
- A copy of payroll (if you have a job).
-Application form [JKM 18] and [JKM 20].
