A pet owner is in distress after their beloved pet Shih Tzu went missing on July 13th, 2024.
Despite extensive searches around the Kelana Jaya area, they were unable to locate the dog.
The owner received a text from an anonymous person with a picture of the dog, confirming its identity, but was unable to find its location.
The dog was reportedly rescued and handed over to an animal NGO at IOI Mall.
It was also noted that the NGO groomed the dog and rehomed it to a new owner, refusing to disclose the new owner's details despite the owner's desperate attempts to retrieve their pet.
"My only concern was to get back my dog who has been with us for 13 years, but they didn't reveal the new owner's details," said the distraught pet owner.
They have exhausted all efforts, including legal avenues, but have been unable to reclaim their beloved pet.
The owner's mother, who is ill and emotionally affected by the situation, also tried to communicate with the NGO.
However, the person in charge of the NGO remained unyielding, stating, "You will never get back your dog."
Netizens are rallying behind the family, demanding the NGO return the Shih Tzu to its rightful owners.
"You took care of it for one week; they took care of it for 13 years! Imagine how sad the Shih Tzu is to be separated from his family. Give it back to the family!" they implore.
According to the NGO, the dog was found on the LDP highway the same day it was reported missing.
The finder tried several shelters, but none could accept the dog. The NGO then advised bringing the dog to their adoption drive on July 14th.
The NGO claimed the dog was in poor condition and hadn't been groomed for months, contradicting the owner's statement that the pet was regularly groomed.
Despite the owner filing a police report, there has been no progress in the case, causing significant concern.
The family hopes that by sharing their story, they can reach the new owner and reunite with their cherished pet.
