University of Malaya has been widely condemned by outraged Malaysians, following the horrific news of cat killings on its campus grounds.
On social media, user @shimaaris called out the institution after several carcasses had been found with mutilated body parts.
UM’s Department of Veterinary Services, however, denied allegations of human doings, but instead claimed the cats’ gruesome marks were caused by stray dogs instead- a statement that has resulted in a public outcry.
Many animal activists have since raised doubts over UM’s integrity, and urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation on the matter.
