Writing an essay or even a three-page composition can be tiring, so imagine attempting it underwater. While it might seem implausible, a student recently accomplished this feat by writing an essay while submerged in a five-meter-deep pool.
Ahmad Fudhail Ahmad Kenedi, a 20-year-old student at the Mara Poly-Tech College (KPTM) Alor Setar, was acknowledged by the Malaysia Book of Records for his essay entitled 'The Importance of Personality Development for Graduates' at the Kedah Aquatic Center.

Using a waterproof pen and notebook, the Office Management Diploma student managed to write 350 words in just one hour and 34 minutes. He described his effort as an innovation in the field of diving, aiming to encourage young people to pursue their dreams. Initially, Ahmad Fudhail had intended to set the record in the sea, but due to safety concerns, particularly unpredictable weather, he changed the location to a pool.
"In the first 20 to 30 minutes, everything was smooth, but afterwards, I started feeling the cold, especially in the third paragraph of the essay. I also struggled to write as my body swayed, but with determination, I completed the challenge and honoured the college's commitment to obtaining the Malaysia Book Of Records certificate," he stated.
He also emphasized that the Malaysia Book Of Records award was just the beginning of his journey towards achieving greater recognition, possibly even at the global level, such as attempting to dive for three consecutive days.
