In a shocking incident reported by the udn.com and See Hua Daily News, a man surnamed Huang in Changhua County, Taiwan, had his genital organ severed and flushed down the toilet by his Vietnamese girlfriend after he fell asleep from consuming instant noodles prepared by her.
The girlfriend, surnamed Feng, suspected her cohabiting boyfriend of infidelity and engaging in inappropriate relationships with other women, leading her to take drastic measures out of resentment.
On the evening of March 30, 2021, at 8 p.m., Feng crushed five sleeping pills and mixed them into Hua Diao Chicken-flavored instant noodles, which she then served to Huang.
Around 11 p.m. that night, after confirming that Huang was sound asleep in their room, Feng took a pair of scissors from the kitchen and directly severed Huang's genital organ, subsequently discarding it into the toilet.
Afterwards, Feng voluntarily surrendered herself to the police via a taxi. Authorities notified an ambulance to rush Huang to emergency medical care. Upon arrival, Huang was covered in blood, and unconscious. The police also managed to seize the scissors and sleeping pills used by Feng at the crime scene.
Doctors confirmed that Huang's penis was reduced to a mere 1.5 cm, rendering him incapable of normal sexual activity or reproduction.
During the investigation, Feng admitted that she overheard Huang talking to another woman about abandoning her, which enraged her and prompted her to harm him.
Feng further stated that when she carried out the act, Huang cried out in pain, and she briefly considered letting him go due to a momentary lapse of compassion. However, upon recalling Huang's conversations with other women, she steeled herself and carried out the severing.
The court ruled that Feng's actions constituted intentional infliction of serious harm. In the initial trial, taking into account Feng's voluntary surrender and providing assistance to Huang at the time of the incident, the court granted her a reduced sentence.
Nevertheless, the court expressed regret over Feng's extreme choice to harm Huang during a moment of difficulty. Unable to sympathize with her actions, the court sentenced her to five years of imprisonment.
Both the appellate court and the Supreme Court upheld the original verdict, concluding the case.
