This year’s Hari Raya may not be as joyous as previous years’ as many of us have to stay put where we are instead of going home and hug our parents due to the pandemic. But if you think you’ll have to let the festive season pass by dully while only eating your kuih Raya and video-calling your faraway family, you are definitely wrong: our very own police and armed forces — who we always thought are serious and strict — have produced a music video that could really cheer you up!
The song, ‘Syawal Yang Biru’ (A Blue Syawal), uploaded on YouTube by RMP TV Channel was so upbeat and happy that you would feel like dancing along!

In the video, our frontline heroes sing, dance and play the musical instruments professionally in their uniforms, looking like they are having a lot of fun and really enjoying this. However, as joyful as the song itself is, it does not forget to deliver a very strong message to us: practice social distancing. And the coolest part is the message is told in rap!

Oh, my! How talented our police and army are!

Now we have just another reason to thank them sincerely. And as a grateful rakyat, we Malaysians should do our part, follow the SOPs and regulations set by the goverment. That’s the least we can do for them.
