It all started when a popular Sushi franchise in Taiwan launched a promotion that entitles anyone with "gui yu" or salmon in their name free all-you-can-eat meals along with five other friends. According to the law, Taiwanese citizens are legally allowed to change their names a total of three times.

It has gotten way out of hand (a total of 150 people applied to change their names!) that the Taiwanese officials had to beg for their citizens not to. Can you imagine all the paperwork?

"We'll just change our names back once the promotion is over." Cited one of the citizens.
Some of the names that they've come up with are admittedly, quite amusing. To name a few:
"Salmon Fried Rice."
"Salmon Prince."
"Meteor Salmon King."
Our question is: would you legally change your name for free food?
