A Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) fight jet has unfortunately crashed at the Butterworth Air Base Runway around 10:07 PM last night, reports say.

According to sources, the Hawk MK108 aircraft with the two pilots were in a training session before crashing at Butterworth Air Force Base. One Royal Malaysian Air Force serviceman was reportedly killed while another injured.
The RMAF had already issued a statement, confirming the crash. "We can confirm an accident involving a Hawk belonging to the RMAF on the runway of the Butterworth airbase tonight. The RMAF is taking immediate action and will inform the latest about the incident. "As such, we urge the people not to speculate on the matter," the statement says.
Meanwhile, Malaysia's defense minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein posted a condolence post to the deceased, Kapten Mohamad Affendi Bin Bustamy TUDM. In his previous post, he informed that he had also ordered the Defence Ministry to provide whatever assistance necessary to the families of the two servicemen.
