KOTA BHARU - The disappearance of a woman who claimed to be working in Putrajaya almost three years ago was finally uncovered when she was found in a state of confusion at a house in Kampung Perupuk, Pasir Mas near here yesterday evening.
Family members reported the 26-year-old woman's disappearance at the Ketereh Police Station when they couldn't contact her after she boarded an express bus on the pretext of getting a job at a premises in Putrajaya in November 2019.
Acting Kota Bharu District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd. Suhaimi Ali said, before disappearing, family members only managed to contact her once in three years.
According to him, based on the evidence, the victim's father had been to Putrajaya to look for the victim, but was informed that the woman had never come to the premises which was alleged to be her place of work.
Her father then lodged a police report regarding the disappearance of his daughter. After almost three years of investigation, the woman was found in a house in Kampung Perupuk, Pasir Mas.
"Investigation found that the woman is believed to be living in the house with an elderly man in his 60s and a woman is believed to be his wife," he said when contacted today.
Commenting further, Mohd. Suhaimi said, based on the investigation, the woman was suspected of knowing the man before disappearing three years ago.
According to him, when the police found the woman at the house at about 6pm yesterday, the senior citizen was not at home and only his wife was with the victim.
