There are some things which are illegal to say/do/ask, there are others which aren't, but we probably shouldn't be saying, doing or asking and THEN there are those which are perfectly innocent, yet in some weird way, feel illegal.
We went around asking young Malaysians about that last one, and here are a few of their relatable, funny and 'omg yeah why is that?' replies.
#1 When someone asks 'how old are you?' A perfectly valid question upon meeting someone new, however it just feels, no.
#2 While paying at the cashier and you're taking too long. It isn't wrong, but you're like 'shit shit shit'.
#3 When someone owes you YOUR money, but asking them to give it back to you is....
#4 Leaving the office on time, like in what world is that wrong?
#5 Admitting to not knowing when your boss/teacher/lecturer asks you something you genuinely don't know.
#6 Saying 'no' when anyone asks you to do something you're not really feeling.
#7 You go through airport security, and suddenly you're worried about the 5 types of drugs and arsenal that ISN'T on you.
#8 Speaking at a regular volume on public transportation, why we whispering again??
#9 When you're in a foreign country, someone asks you where you're from and after telling them they go 'where is Malaysia?', heh?
#10 Taking a second serving of food (especially when you're out).
#11 Taking a day off from the office.
#12 Asking for permission to come home past curfew.
All pretty harmless stuff, and yet when it happens, you ???
