In contrast to the past, parents nowadays find it easier to communicate with teachers regarding their children through the use of WhatsApp groups.
However, these WhatsApp groups often become platforms where parents raise various issues in an inappropriate manner, burdening educators and sometimes even causing tension within the groups.
One teacher shared several screenshots of messages from a class WhatsApp group, revealing a parent who exhibited rude behaviour when asking a question a teacher.
"Assalamualaikum teacher. I want to ask, my child doesn't have the BM1 and BM2 exercise books. Did you take them?" wrote the parent in a late-night message, adding, "I hope you have the decency to respond to my question."
However, this remark received criticism from other parents in the group who felt that the language used was highly disrespectful. Despite the backlash, the parent defended their actions by claiming that their previous questions had been difficult for the class teacher to answer.
In the screenshots of the WhatsApp group, another parent stepped in to remind everyone about the importance of maintaining decorum. Rather than engaging in further argument, the parent quickly ended the conversation but not before issuing a warning to the class teacher.
Observing the conversation, the teacher acknowledged the presence of a small number of parents who displayed such disrespectful behaviour.
"Wow. How arrogant you are. Who do you think you are? Go start your own school and teach your own child," he wrote.
Meanwhile, the teacher also praised the parents who supported him and had the courage to reprimand the involved parent.
Please be kind! No matter who you are kay, guys?
