In a recent TikTok video that went viral, a woman recounted a peculiar incident that took place while she and her mother were preparing some fried kuey teow in their kitchen. The sequence of events began when the woman's sister-in-law expressed a desire to visit and requested that they cook fried kuey teow for her. As the woman's mother was cooking the dish, a startling transformation occurred: the noodles in the pan unexpectedly turned black, rendering it unappealing.

Suddenly, it turned black, causing a moment of shock as she stood in front of the stove. She wondered why it had taken on such a dark hue and muttered prayers under her breath.

"For the sake of Allah, this isn't made up just so I can go viral. No. Because my mother loves cooking and feeds anyone who comes to the house," she added.

The woman clarified that her mother had been cooking around 7 p.m., just before Maghrib. To ventilate the cooking smoke, they had left the back door of the kitchen adjacent to her mother's cooking area open. However, following the unexpected turn of events, they promptly closed the door.

After discarding the dish, the woman's mother prepared another batch of fried kuey teow, which appeared normal, resembling how it usually should be. She mentioned that this was the second try her mother cooked, and during the preparation, her mother recited Ayat Kursi, along with all of the verses.

She expressed deep fear when the dish suddenly turned black for the first time. Her sister-in-law speculated that perhaps there was an excess of soy sauce, while their mother-in-law suggested the possibility of adding some paru. However, the woman clarified that she does not even eat paru. Ultimately, her mother reassured them, advising them to ignore the incident and forgive whoever might have been responsible.
