ICYMI: 19-Year-Old Man With A Monthly Income Of RM1,100 Wants To Take Out A Full Loan To Buy A Proton X70
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has set off a wave of boycotts in the country. However, while boycotting businesses, it has also indirectly impacted the livelihoods of employees!
Yusof Saharullah, a Malay man, posted on Facebook with the title "It's so easy to say", telling the stories of those employees affected by the wave of boycotts.
He recently visited a KFC in Pahang for lunch, but found it was deserted with no customers. He found that there were only two employees working in the entire store, one at the counter and the other in the kitchen.
"I ordered a chicken combo and usually the staff would ask if it was original or spicy, but not this time. I asked for a mix of both flavors but was told 'sir, we only have original'."
While waiting for the meal, the employee at the counter suddenly asked: "Didn't you boycott us, sir?" He also noticed that the store seemed to have only one air conditioner turned on to save money.
Yusof Saharullah admitted that he was stunned when he heard the question, so he asked: "I haven't eaten (KFC) for a long time. I am tired of eating white rice with side dishes, so I eat KFC today. How is your work?" "
The employee immediately replied: "Fortunately, our wages are calculated on an hourly basis, and the boss is also saving costs. I understand people's boycott, and I am also looking for other jobs. But so far no luck... .I have expenses that I need to bear every month.
He fell silent immediately after hearing this. He could only respond with a smile and silently took away his meal.
"This is the current situation at KFC and it is uncertain whether this branch will be one of the branches temporarily closed in the future. I wish them all the best."
At the end of the post, he also called on the public to be rational consumers.
"Want to continue the boycott? Please, that's your choice, but don't go too far and label others with false labels and titles. We did not experience their fate and are grateful for everything we have now."
